NASCAR – Jeff Gordon, 20 years later

20 years ago, the NASCAR made its grand debut on the Brickyard in Indianapolis, long reserved for car de l 'IndyCar and the famous 500 miles. In 1994, a very young driver, who had arrived two years earlier in the premier category, won the first race contested in the temple of American motor sports. This pilot was named Jeff Gordon. 20 years later, the now Hendrick Motorsports driver did it again at Indy by taking his second success of the year. The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet, quadruple champion, embraces the famous Brickyard for the 5th time in his career.

Gordon dominated the first part of a fluid race overall, but had to wait for the final restart 17 laps from the finish to definitively take control of the event to the detriment of his teammate Kasey Kahne. If the Hendrick team dominated this Sunday, Joe Gibbs Racing achieved a very good overall result by placing its three cars behind the winner, with Kyle Busch, very fast at the end of the race, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth. Gordon logically retains the lead in the championship and is assured of qualifying for the Chase.
