Nascar – Jeff Gordon wins at Martinsville

Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) scored its first victory of the season at Martinsville (Virginia), ensuring it a place among the Chasers who will still be in contention for the final contested on November 22 at Homestead-Miami (Florida).

The four-time Sprint Cup champion benefited from the settling of scores between Joey Logano (Team Penske) and Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing). To take revenge for being sent into a spin by the No. 22 Ford in Kansas on October 18 while he was leading the race, which resulted in him being eliminated from the play-offs, the champion 2003 returned the favor for Logano when he was in the lead.

The event was marked by numerous yellow flags caused by accidents, which caused an evening finish. Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Brad keselowski (Team Penske) are the other losers of this race having finished deep in the standings after being involved in an accident with Matt Kenseth sent to the scene by the 2012 champion.
