Jimmie Johnson pocketed his fifth success on the Texas oval, after beating outgoing champion Kevin Harvick at the end of the event.

NASCAR – Jimmie Johnson received five out of five in Texas

Held last night in Texas, the Duck Commander 500 race smiled on Hendrick Motorsports and Jimmie Johnson. The six-time champion NASCAR took control of the event on the 321st lap before beating the defending champion Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing), second despite a scare at turn 4 on the 331st lap. Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) finished 3rd ahead of the two Team Penske Fords of Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano.

In the clan Toyota, Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs) s’est de nouveau montré le plus en verve au Texas, en complétant le top 10 devant son équipier Denny Hamlin. Harvick conserve la tête du championnat devant Logano et Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row).
