NASCAR – Johnson beats Keselowski in Texas

With 312 laps led out of the 334 scheduled yesterday for the Texas event in the Eliminator Round of the 2015 Chase, Brad Keselowski (Team Penske? Ford) seemed able to pocket the success qualifying him for the season finale at Miami-Homestead (Florida).

This was without counting on the lightning return of Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports? Chevrolet) in the last laps. The six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion came to overtake Keselowski four laps from the checkered flag to pocket a prestigious victory, Johnson being eliminated from the title race.

The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet SS signs his second victory of the year on this Texan track, after the one won last April. It is also the fifth success of his season. Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing ? Chevrolet) complète le tiercé de tête après avoir surmonté deux crevaisons durant la course. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) emmène la première Toyota en quatrième position devant son équipier Carl Edwards.

Punctures which animated the first part of the event and who ruined the efforts of Joey Logano (Team Penske? Ford) or Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports? Chevrolet).

Find the report of the Texas event in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, in issue 2037 of AUTOhebdo, available this evening in digital version, and on newsstands this Wednesday.
