Nascar – Julien Jousse flies to the USA

Après deux bonnes journées d’essais au volant d’une Chevrolet Impala SS de l’équipe Creation Cope Racing, le Français a décidé de s’engager au Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 sur le All American Speedway de Roseville en Californie, pour la 14e manche de la saison de K&N Pro Series West. « I've been interested in this type of car racing on ovals for a long time, but the American environment is completely different from what I know in Europe, explains Jousse. So I decided to contact my friend Adrien Paviot, who comments on the NASCAR on Motors TV, and which has many connections across the Atlantic. He was therefore the ideal contact to help me get started in stock cars. »

This Saturday, Jousse will therefore complete the first race of his career on an oval, which he took the time to prepare in Virginia. “ I just completed two days of testing at Motor Mile Speedway, says he. With the help of Derrike Cope, I was able to learn the ropes of driving on ovals. It?s very different from what I experienced in Europe. These NASCARs are really impressive to drive, especially when accelerating when the car is drifting and getting closer to the wall! But the pleasure was immediate. »

In California, Julien Jousse will not have a specific objective, other than to accumulate experience in this type of race. “ I have a lot to learn during this California weekend, the K&N Pro Series West championship being one of the main springboards for future NASCAR stars. The level will therefore be very high, but the experience will be very enriching for me if I then want to progress in the national divisions. »
