Nascar – Kurt Busch remains suspended despite charges being dropped

Kurt Busch will not be prosecuted in Delaware court after being accused of "domestic violence" in the investigation involving his former partner Patricia Driscoll who was allegedly beaten by the pilot of the Nascar last September.

“The investigation determined that the admissible evidence and testimony would likely be insufficient to accuse Mr. Busch of the facts with which he is accused on September 26, beyond all reasonable doubt”, commented the Delaware court in a press release.

If the dropping of charges against Kurt Busch could give the latter hope of get back behind the wheel of the #41 Chevrolet, a few days after the start of his reintegration program, Nascar quickly reacted specifying that suspension remained in force for an indefinite period.

“Nascar has been made aware of the Delaware court's announcement regarding Kurt Busch”, confirmed the organization in a press release. “He has agreed to the terms and conditions of a reintegration program and is actively participating in it. Kurt Busch's eligibility to return will continue to depend on this program and Nascar rules, even if the dropping of possible criminal charges is a significant step in his reintegration. »

Regan Smith should therefore continue to replace Kurt Busch this weekend in Las Vegas (Nevada).
