NASCAR – The starting grid for the Daytona 500 is known

After Jeff Gordon who had picked up pole position ahead of Jimmie Johnson last Sunday during qualifying for the Daytona 500 in Florida, the first round of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2015, it remained to be known the rest of the starting grid, determined by the Budweiser Duels. These two races contested this night, once again allowed Hendrick Motorsports to shine since Jimmie Johnson in Duel 2 and Dale Earhnardt Jr (despite his disqualification last weekend) in the first round, won. The main favorites will be there, with Dale Jr 3rd, ahead of Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs), Joey Logano (Penske), Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs), Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas). Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs), will start from 35th place, Brad Keselowski (Penske) will start from 39th position.

The Duels will have been lively, since several crashes took place, notably in the second Duel, involving among others Danica Patrick (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), just like during the tests. Words will be exchanged at length between the two protagonists, but they will be part of the 43 cars which will start on Sunday evening in the legendary American race. Six drivers failed to qualify: Ron Hornaday Jr., Josh Wise, Jeb Burton, Justin Marks, Alex Bowman and Brian Scott.
