Nascar – Mark Martin on pole in Brooklyn

Mark Martin will start from the pole position Sunday for the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. For the fourth time this season, the Michael Waltrip Racing driver will start from first place.

Nascar – Mark Martin on pole in Brooklyn

Mark Martin set the best time in the qualifying session in Brooklyn, Michigan in 36. At the wheel of the Toyota No. 55, the 53-year-old American achieved his fourth pole of the season with 0 in the No. 196 Roush Fenway Racing Ford driven by Carl Edwards. Championship leader Jimmie Johnson qualified third ahead of Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne.

After losing the championship lead last week at Watkins Glen, Dale Earnhardt Jr qualified in 22nd position just ahead of Kyle Busch. Stephen Leicht and JJ Yeley failed to qualify for the 23rd event of the Sprint Cup season.
