Nascar – No new packages for the Chase

Steve O'Donnell, executive vice president of the Nascar, announced in the paddock of the Michigan International Speedway which hosts the discipline this week that the low downforce package tested last June at Kentucky Speedway and in September at Darlington (South Carolina) and that tested this weekend at Michigan will not will not be used during the Chase.

“We made this decision after numerous discussions with the circuit organizers, the drivers, the team bosses… Everyone thinks that it is the best choice for the discipline. We're already pretty excited about the Chase, especially when we think back to last year's race.", commented Steve O'Donnell.

The executive vice-president, however, was less precise regarding the progress of safety studies following the Austin Dillon crash last July at Daytona which injured several people in the public. “Nothing has been put in place yet but I think you can expect something from it”, simply replied Steve O'Donnell.
