Nascar: Who will compete in the Chase in 2012?

Eight journalists from nascar.com have just predicted the list of drivers likely to qualify for the “Chase for the Sprint Cup” at the end of the season. Unsurprisingly, the 12 elected in 2011 remain favored by the forecasts, Tony Stewart (Stewart Haas), Carl Edwards (Roush-Fenway), Kevin Harvick (Childress), Matt Kenseth (Roush-Fenway), Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick), Jeff Gordon (Hendrick) and Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs) being voted for by all voters . For the majority (7 votes), Brad Keselowski (Penske), Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick), Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs) and Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas, although with a small rating of 4) will also be there.

Even though he only received one vote, Kurt Busch is among the contenders despite his time with Phoenix Racing, James Finch's structure benefiting from equipment from the very renowned Hendrick Motorsport. His successor at Penske, AJ Allmendinger, could therefore take his place in the “Chase”, according to three of the observers. Likewise, Marcos Ambrose (Petty, 1 vote), Jeff Burton (Childress, 1) and Greg Biffle (Roush-Fenway, 2) could be. Finally, seven journalists see Kasey Kahne, now a resident of the Hendrick team, join the list. At autohebdo.fr, we lean towards this possibility, rather than Allmendinger… And you?
