AJ Allmendinger suspended indefinitely by Nascar

During a doping test at Kentucky Speedway in early July, traces of a banned substance were found, leading to the immediate suspension of AJ Allmendinger. However, the American decided to appeal for a B sample to be analyzed. Unfortunately for him, studies carried out this Tuesday July 24 confirmed the presence of a prohibited product, the name of which remains unknown for the moment. It is therefore suspended indefinitely by the Nascar.

« This is not the news we wanted to hear and we will work to find the source of what may have caused this., explains Tara Ragan, vice-president of Walldinger Racing Inc, the company which manages the career of AJ Allmendinger. We had an independent lab run tests on every product in AJ and his trainer's home to find out what could have caused the test to fail. We are working closely with Nascar and Penske Racing to identify the next actions in the process »

Since the announcement of AJ Allmendinger's suspension, Sam Hornish Jr has taken the wheel of the No. 22 Dodge for the Penske Racing team.
