Big One, flight and photo finish: Talladega crowns Blaney after a spectacular race

Postponed to Monday October 15 due to showers, the test of Nascar on the famous Talladega (Alabama) oval provided everything one could expect from a race on this superspeedway.

On the 182nd lap of the 188 planned loops, a pile-up took place at the front of the peloton, causing Brendan Gaughan to take off, fortunately without any dramatic consequences. In this Big One, the favorites Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski destroyed their winning streaks.

The final lap of the event was one of the most exciting of the 2019 season. Ryan Newman took the lead for a few moments, before being hit from behind by Denny Hamlin on the penultimate curve.

In a last effort, Ryan Blaney took the lead over Denny Hamlin just in time. At the finish, the two men were separated by only seven thousandths of a second!

This is Ryan Blaney's third victory in Nascar, the first at Talladega. In the play-off standings, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer and William Byron are in a bad position before the next round at Kansas Speedway (October 20), which will serve as the next ax in this title race.
