There was tension at Kansas Speedway this Sunday evening. First there was this very close last lap between Kyle Larson (Hendrick Motorsports) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) which saw the second win after a small hit on the rear bumper of the rival Chevrolet Camaro . In some there was rage, in others there was joy. A bit like the scene between Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson a few moments later.
While Denny Hamlin was going through the various protocols to which the winner is subject, young Noah Gragson (Legacy Motorsport) went to see Ross Chastain (Trackhouse Racing Team) to make him understand that he had not appreciated one of his gestures while running. The first in fact criticized the second for having pressed him a little too hard against the wall 60 laps from the checkerboard.
It was enough for the tone to rise and the first scuffles to begin. Taken by the collar by Noah Gragson, Ross Chastain did not hesitate to punch him directly in the face. The best rookie of the year and the championship leader were then quickly separated by different people who witnessed the scene. It remains to be seen what the Nascar but the American association is often renowned for letting its pilots do their thing. She did not hesitate to promote it on her social networks with different angles of the action. It plays !
