Clint Bowyer takes a Stewart-Haas triple to Michigan

Clint Bowyer (Stewart)Haas Racing – Ford) can thank the sky… and the winning strategy of its team leader Mike Bugarewicz. The former resident of Michael Waltrip Racing scored his second success of the season at Michigan, taking advantage of the good choice of his team and the arrival of rain, which put an end to the proceedings last night.

By choosing to use only two tires during his stop between stages 2 and 3, Bowyer took the advantage over his teammate Kevin Harvick before controlling the latter at the restart of the 126th lap. On the 129th lap, Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Roush Fenway Racing – Ford) made a mistake and caused a yellow flag, before the rain appeared and forced the race management to permanently stop the event.

Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports) and Jamie McMurray (Chip Ganassi Racing) placed the only two Chevrolet Camaros in the top ten positions.
