Danica Patrick will end her career with Daytona and Indy 500

Danica Patrick confirmed in the Homestead-Miami paddock that she would no longer be involved full-time in the Nascar Cup Series and that she would end her career at Daytona and Indy 500.

Danica Patrick will end her career with Daytona and Indy 500

Danica Patrick announced at a press conference in the paddock of Homestead-Miami (Florida) where the season concludes Nascar that she would no longer be involved full-time in the Cup Series next year. The resident of the Stewart-Haas Racing no longer had a steering wheel for the next season, being replaced by Aric almirola.

“This will be my last season as a full-time driver. My sister told me not to act emotional and I told her I wouldn't be, declared Danica Patrick who burst into tears while speaking. I have never had any sponsor problems until now. It made me think about things, but I'm excited about what's coming up for me, rest assured. »

The first woman to have played full-time at the highest level of Nascar will however be present at Daytona 500 (Florida) on February 18, 2018, where she won the pole when she arrived in 2013 within the SHR. The former pilotIndyCar also announced that she will enter the Indy 500 next May to conclude her career.

Danica Patrick has never won in Nascar after 189 starts, but she has seven finishes in the top ten. His best result was a sixth place in Atlanta (Georgia).
