David Ragan wins at Daytona

David Ragan could have already taken victory this season at Daytona, but he received a penalty for changing lines before the restart. The driver of the No. 6 Ford did not make the same mistake and celebrated his first Sprint Cup success by winning ahead of his teammate Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano (Joe Gibbs Racing).

“It's good to come back to Daytona, another defeat would have been difficult”, admits the winner who was making his 163rd Sprint Cup start. “I told myself that if I didn't win, I wasn't going to talk to anyone anymore. We succeeded and it closed the open wound in February. »

In fourth place, we find Kasey Kahne (Red Bull Racing Team), followed by Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing), Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) and Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing) who takes control of the Championship. Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing) had a disastrous race, finishing several laps behind the leader after contact with the wall.
