David Reutimann surprises in Richmond

After his second place in Atlanta behind his teammate Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) posted a new performance by placing his No. 48 Chevrolet in third place at the start of the race. The five-time Sprint Cup Series champion is now the sole leader in the discipline.

Mark Martin (Hendrick Motorsports) set the fourth fastest time of the session ahead of a trio of Richard Childress Racing drivers, in that order Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing), Jimmie Johnson's closest championship rival, will start from 13th.
