Hamlin wins in Kansas

Denny Hamlin (Toyota) s’est offert sa 5e victoire de la saison en s’imposant pour la seconde fois de sa carrière au Kansas Speedway. Le pensionnaire de la Joe Gibbs Racing a dominé la course à partir du deuxième segment pour s’offrir la 36e victoire de sa carrière en Nascar Cup Series

Chase Elliott (Chevrolet) was the closest, finishing a tenth behind the winner, but driver Hendrick did the hardest part by managing to qualify for the last segment at the expense of Brad Keselowski (Ford). The Team Penske resident was pushed around at the end of the race and brushed against the wall on the last lap, dropping him to 19th position.

William Byron (Chevrolet), Clint Bowyer (Ford) and Alex Bowman (Chevrolet) are the others eliminated from this segment. Chase Elliott (Chevrolet) is the only Hendrick Motorsports driver still in the race for the title.
