Joey Logano (Team Penske – Ford Mustang) will not have had an easy time in Arizona, but the winner of the Las Vegas (Nevada) event is the first driver to win twice in 2020, after his success in Phoenix last night.
Before finding the way to Victory Lane at the very end of the race, Logano was penalized twice in the pit lane, one for a wandering wheel during a stop, the other for a jack problem. dropping to 18th place on the 272nd lap.
But a good strategy, by staying on the track a few laps later following a yellow flag, quickly put the Penske driver back in the right car, to find himself fighting for victory against one of the masters of the place Kevin Harvick ( Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford).
A final neutralization in the last five laps pushed the outcome of the event into overtime, Logano resisting Harvick well until the checkered flag. Behind the Ford double, Kyle Busch places first Toyota Joe Gibbs Racing Camry in third position ahead of Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet Camaro) and Clint Bowyer (Stewart-Haas Racing).
