Keselowski wins in Atlanta

Brad Keselowski (Ford) scored his first victory of the season, the 28th of his career in Nascar Cup Series, winning at Atlanta Motor Speedway (Georgia) where the new aero packages were used for the first time. This is the second time he has managed to win on the one and a half mile oval.

If the cars were closer together to take advantage of the side draft, the leaders could take advantage of clean air to prance in the lead. The race nevertheless remained fluid with only two interruptions.

The last restart given in a starting order raising many questions (the latecomers being among the leaders) was led by the Penske Fords, but Joey Logano had to stop due to vibrations. Brad Keselowski had to resist the return of Martin Truex Jr in the final laps to become his team's most successful driver with 60 wins in all categories. The 2012 champion achieved this feat while he was unwell.
