A new discipline for Magnussen to discover

The return of PROJECT91
This participation, which will take place for Magnussen one week after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will mark the sixth appearance of the PROJECT91 program and the first since that ofHelio Castroneves during the Daytona 500 2025.
Since its inception in 2022, the project has allowed several international stars to try their hand at NASCAR, notably Kimi Räikkönen and Shane van Gisbergen. The latter caused a sensation by winning the inaugural Chicago race in his first Cup Series appearance, a feat unseen since 1963.
For Justin Marks, owner of Trackhouse Racing, the partnership between Qualcomm and Magnussen perfectly matches the spirit of the project.
« We were waiting for the right opportunity with the right partner and the right driver to bring PROJECT91 back. Qualcomm is a global brand, and Kevin Magnussen is a driver with an international reputation. These are exactly the elements we're looking for in this program. " Marks explained.
Kevin Magnussen will thus join Trackhouse regular drivers Shane van Gisbergen, Ross Chastain and Connor Zilisch for this 75-lap race held on a 3,4-mile (5,47 km) street circuit set up within the Coronado naval base.
The first NASCAR Cup Series race in San Diego will start on June 21st.
