Kimi Räikkönen's return to competition is fast approaching. Retired since the end of the 2021 season F1, the Finn will put on the suit and helmet again on August 21 for the arrival of the Nascar in Watkins Glen.
In the state of New York, Kimi Räikkönen will represent Trackhouse Racing, whose owner is none other than the artist Pitbull, marking his debut in the Cup Series. In recent hours, the 2007 F1 world champion visited the premises of the team based in Charlotte (North Carolina) where he was able to sit aboard the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL91 that he will be bringing to ride at Watkins Glens in just a few days.

Kimi Räikkönen is not his first attempt on the other side of the Atlantic. In 2011 during his sabbatical period away from the world of Formula 1, Iceman took part in the round on the Charlotte oval in the Nationwide Series (the 2e division now called Xfinity Series) as well as in Truck Series. This time, it is in the premier category that he will prove himself.

Kimi Räikkönen's participation in the Watkins Glen road round is part of the framework of Project91 whose goal is to extend the visibility of Nascar internationally by entrusting the No. 91 Camaro to foreign drivers.
