Winner on Saturday at Richmond, Kyle Busch takes his first Sprint Cup victory of the season and moves back into third position in the general classification. A good operation with a view to the Chase.

Kyle Busch in the title race

Kyle Busch was waiting for it, this first victory of the season. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, while he shines in the Nationwide Series, had not yet crossed the finish line as a winner this season in the Sprint Cup Series. Poleman on the Richmond oval, the “M&M” driver deserved his victory, having led 226 laps of the race.

But it was during the last restart that everything was decided. Five laps from the finish, the driver who celebrated his 25th birthday this weekend, was able to take the advantage over Jeff Gordon, quadruple champion of Nascar and who was hoping to get his first victory of the year. This victory above all allows Kyle Busch to move back into the general classification.

Kurt Busch's younger brother is now third (see here), well placed with a view to competing in the title race at the end of the season. For this, he has sixteen races left to finish in the first twelve and participate in the Chase, ten races which will allow the election of the 2010 champion.
