While Nascar Sprint Cup prepares to test a new aero package this week at Kentucky Speedway, officials are already planning to install it for the race as well. Darlington (South Carolina) on September 6 with slight differences, including a slightly larger spoiler.
“We felt that the Darlington meeting was the most suitable since it allows Goodyear to produce a tire specific to this package”, explained Steve O'Donnell, vice-president of Nascar.
A new aero package will also be tested at Indianapolis (July 26) and Michigan (August 16). This configuration should also offer more overtaking but above all it will limit the maximum speed of the cars by around ten miles (16km/h).
