The Nascar Truck Series brought up to date

La Nascar is renowned for its conservatism, but the discipline must still evolve to be in keeping with the times. If the Sprint Cup saw the arrival of the Gen 6 last year and the Nationwide new models in 2010, it is the turn of the Truck Series to have a new body for 2014. The changes remain minor with notably redesigned windows to offer a better view to drivers, a new rear spoiler, a steeper front end and a narrower front splitter. It is mainly the design of the trucks that has been corrected to be more similar to passenger vehicles.

“Each manufacturer designed its own model to promote their involvement in Nascar”, commented Robin Pemberton, vice-president of competition and racing development. “We have worked hard with all three manufacturers over the past few years and we are excited to introduce the new bodies that will make this sport even better. »

Chevrolet Silverados, Ford F-150s and Toyota Tundra retains most of the mechanics used last year, including the 8l V5,9. Nascar Trucks have a taller, narrower and slightly longer body than those of the Sprint Cup and Nationwide. Smaller teams in the third division will be able to use last year's bodies on ovals of 1,25 miles or less.
