Logano wins at Talladega

Joey Logano (Ford) remained untouchable in the final part of the Geico 500 held at the Talladega superspeedway (Alabama). The Team Penske resident remained in the lead in the final laps after being the biggest leader of the race with 70 laps spent in first place out of the 188 in the event.

The driver of the No. 22 Ford Fusion only had to change trajectory a few times to put an end to attacks from Kurt Busch (Ford) and Kevin Harvick (Ford) who gave up his third place to Chase Elliott (Chevrolet). in the last meters. Rickt Stenhouse Jr (Ford) completed the Top 5. Ford placed six of its cars in the Top 7.

Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet) had to settle for 12th place, but the Hendrick Motorsports driver did well since he caused a Big One at the end of the race after losing control of his Chevrolet. The pileup which involved a dozen cars eliminated many contenders for victory.

Joey Logano scored his 19th victory at the highest level of the Nascar, his first since Richmond (Virginia) last year 36 starts ago.
