Michel Disdier shines at Daytona

After a first experience of ten races in Arca during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Michel Disdier will race again in the United States, starting next February during the famous “Super Weeks” which precede the Daytona 500. A few days after his 39th birthday , the driver from Nice will line up in Arca, then in Truck Series, considered the third level of the Nascar after the Sprint Cup and the Nationwide. It is with this in mind that he participated last weekend in the Winter Tests at Daytona. “ I had already done a few laps here in 2007, but it wasn't in the same conditions, it didn't even have anything to do with it, confided the Nice resident. This time, I was incorporated into Cunningham Motorsport, one of the best teams in Arca (also known for having introduced Juan Pablo Montoya to stock car racing at Talladega in 2006. Editor's note). I was able to do around 70 rounds the first day and around fifty the second, with a few drafting sessions (to control the suction phenomenon. Editor’s note). I learned a lot about how a car behaves in these conditions ».

Disdier set the 9th best time out of the 61 participants in this test session. Above all, these two days allowed him to make contacts with a view to finalizing a full season in the Truck Series. “ The objective is to be there for a whole season, not to make “hits”he concludes. At Daytona, there were around twenty teams present and we discussed a lot about the future ". The “Frenchie” should announce at the beginning of January the name of the structure likely to welcome it next year.
