Nascar – Almirola on pole at Talladega thanks to rain

The officials of the Nascar had to cancel qualifying at Talladega as the new Air Titan dryers couldn't cope with the unpredictable weather in Alabama. As a result, the starting grid for the Camping World RV Sales 500 will be formed with the results of the first free practice session. Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports), who has just lost his crew chief Todd Parrott, will start on pole ahead of Jeff Burton (Richard Childress Racing), while Marcos Ambrose (Richard Petty Motorsports) and Martin Truex Jr (Michael Waltrip Racing) will form the second row ahead of Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing) who will be the best placed Chaser .

Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing) will follow in sixth while Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) will be the last Chaser to start in the top ten. Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) will start from 11th place ahead of leader Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing) who took his first victory of the season last weekend at Charlotte. Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing) will start from 17th place ahead of Joey Logano (Penske Racing), Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) and Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing). Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) will only start from 27th place ahead of Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports). Kurt Busch (Furniture Row Racing) will only start from 30th position.
