Nascar – Carl Edwards wins at Bristol

The Joe Gibbs had less success with its other drivers. Kyle Busch suffered two punctures and had to retire after hitting the wall, while Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin suffered the same problems.

Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) made a crazy comeback, resuming two laps behind after brake problems forced him to return to the pits. The son of the seven-time champion took second place ahead of Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Chase Elliott (Hendrick Mototorsports) who scored his best result in the Sprint Cup.

Trevor Bayne (Roush Fenway Racing) scored his first top five since winning the Daytona 500 (Florida) in 2011. Matt DiBenedetto achieved the best result of his career in the discipline by securing sixth place, allowing BK Racing to sign the second top ten in its history.
