NASCAR – Chase Elliott in Cup in 2015?

The son of the 1988 champion is in the spotlight. The JR Motorsports driver (co-owned by Hendrick Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr) currently leads the second division of the NASCAR, the Nationwide, and could well do several races in 2015 in Cup, according to the words of Rick Hendrick, also owner of JR Motorsports.

“We have not yet made a final decision,
explains the boss of the multiple champion team in recent seasons with Jimmie Johnson on SiriusXM NASCAR radio. But I think we will see him at several races next year. Before he even got into a Nationwide car, I saw him test the Johnson and Gordon cars in Nashville, and Jimmie and Jeff said to me, "He's very fast, he pays attention to the car." »If I had put him in a 600-mile race in Charlotte, I think he would have finished in the top 15, because he is very smart. »

Elliott will return to the seat of his No. 9 Chevrolet this weekend in Nationwide, for the Zippo-200 on the Watkins Glen circuit in New York state.
