Absent since the New Hampshire event, Dale Earnhardt Jr will not yet return to the seat of his No. 88 Chevrolet this weekend for the Michigan round in Nascar Sprint Cup Series. The American driver will still be out of the next two races, also including the meeting in Darlington (South Carolina), on September 4.
“We know how hard Dale is working to get back, says Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. He follows exactly what the doctors recommend, and does exactly what he should do. Everyone wants to see him in a race car, but his health comes first. We are behind him. »
Dale Earnhardt Jr was forced to withdraw before New Hampshire after experiencing concussion symptoms. Alex Bowman will take his place in the No. 88 Chevrolet this weekend at Michigan, while Jeff Gordon, who took over the wheel between Indianapolis and Bristol, will be entered again at Darlington.
