Nascar – Danica Patrick will leave Stewart-Haas Racing

Danica Patrick has confirmed that she will not continue her career in Nascar Cup Series with the Stewart-Haas Racing. The former pilotIndyCar, who joined the field of America's premier closed car category in 2012, confirmed on his Facebook page that his contract will end at the end of the season due to a new contract signed with a sponsor and driver.

“It has been my honor to drive for Tony Stewart, Gene Haas and everyone at Stewart-Haas Racing for the past six seasons. We won the pole at the Daytona 500 together (in 2013), seven top tens and had some exciting races.", comments Danica Patrick.

“My contract must nevertheless end due to a new contract signed (by the team) for 2018). Sponsors have a key role in our discipline. I wish SHR the best things with their future driver. I thank them for all these memories. I have to concentrate for the rest of the season and finish the year on a good note. I believe in myself and those around me and I feel confident about my future. »

Danica Patrick has never managed to finish in the top five in 180 starts, her best result being a sixth place finish in Atlanta, Georgia in 2014. She has only been able to finish 24th in the last two seasons and has missed the playoffs again this year.
