NASCAR – Denny Hamlin returns to Fontana

A year ago, following a rough face-to-face with Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin finished his race in the Fontana wall and came out with a broken vertebra which put an end to his title hopes.

NASCAR – Denny Hamlin returns to Fontana

It all started following the Bristol race the week before Fontana. Hamlin had taken out Logano while the latter was playing for the win with Jeff Gordon. The two men came to blows, former teammates of Joe Gibbs (2008-2012). The following week in Fontana, California, the two thieves, fighting for victory, jostled and Hamlin ended his race in the wall. The images are impressive and the pilot of the Toyota No. 11 is evacuated by ambulance. As a result, a compression fracture of a lumbar vertebra, and four missed races. His season is ruined. At the finish, Tony Stewart wants to come to blows with Logano whose driving he considers too dangerous. They will be separated by their respective teams, but the tension is high.
