Nascar – Hamlin wins the All-Star Race in Charlotte

Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) won the million dollar prize (approximately €877) with his victory in thea All-Star Race disputée à Charlotte (Caroline du Nord), épreuve disputée hors-championnat. Le pilote de la Toyota n°11 a profité d’un arrêt éclair effectué par ses mécaniciens pour prendre la tête de la course et ne plus la lâcher face à Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing).

The race was fluid as evidenced by the 7 changes of leader with only Kasey Kahne (Hendrick), Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) and Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing). If the latter finished in 3rd place and the No. 5 finished in 7th position, the 2012 champion had to settle for 9th place after showing himself as one of the most serious contenders for victory. His hopes were dashed by a penalty given for excessive speed in the pits.

For his return to the wheel, Kyle Busch was immediately competitive as he took 6th place behind Jeff Gordon (Hendrick) and Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing).
