Nascar – Harvick continues in Phoenix

Kevin Harvick (Ford) took his third consecutive victory in Nascar Cup Series en remportant la TicketGuardian 500 disputée sur l’ovale de 1,5 mile de l’IMS Speedway à Phoenix (Arizona) sur lequel il s’était déjà imposé à huit reprises. Le champion 2014 a été moins dominateur que le week-end précédent à Las Vegas (Nevada), mais il a constamment évolué aux avant-postes, notamment face aux Toyota de la Joe Gibbs Racing emmenées par Kyle Busch et Denny Hamlin.

The Stewart-Haas Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing were the two leading teams in this event. The Fords of Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola and Kurt Busch finished 6th, 7th and 10th respectively, while the JGR Camrys finished in 2nd, 4th and 9th places. Martin Truex Jr, the reigning champion, completed the Top 5 in the Furniture Row Racing Toyota which benefits from the support of the JGR.

Chase Elliott was the only Chevrolet driver to finish in the Top 10. The Hendrick Motorsports resident took third place after battling for victory, but his teammates remained behind. Jimmie Johnson is still struggling to advance at the front, with the seven-time champion having to settle for 14th position.
