Nascar – Jeff Burton bounces back at Michael Waltrip Racing

At 46 years old, the South Boston native will not participate in the full championship but will contest a few races in 2014 alongside Clint Bowyer in the No. 15 and Brian Vickers in the No. 55.

“We are truly fortunate that an experienced and respected driver like Jeff Burton was on the market. He will undoubtedly enable us to continue heading in the right direction,” said Rob Kauffman, co-owner of the team.

Burton will test with the MWR until the end of January before Brian Vickers, absent for medical reasons, is available again. He will be present at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on December 9 and will make his first race with his new team on the Las Vegas oval.

Winner of 21 races in 691 starts in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Burton will be a valuable addition to Michael Waltrip's team and will perhaps be able to find a second youth like his compatriot Mark Martin.
