Nascar – Jimmie Johnson imperial in Texas

Jimmie Johnson quickly made it clear that he wouldn't let anyone else win at Texas Motor Speedway. The Hendrick Motorsports driver wins his sixth victory of the season after winning a large part of the race and regains the lead in the Chase with seven points ahead of Matt Kesenth (Joe Gibbs Racing) who limits his delay by taking fourth place after receiving a drive-through at the start of the race for excessive speed in the pits. The top three is completed by Dale Earnhardt Jr, who gives Hendrick Motorsports the double, and Joey Logano (Penske Racing).

The big loser of the day is Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports). The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet was pumped up after his victory at Martinsville, but the four-time champion finished at the back of the field after heavily damaging his car when he hit the wall. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) also made a bad move, only taking 13th position. The pilot of the Toyota No. 18 had a difficult race with contact with the wall in the first laps before receiving a drive-through for speeding in the pits at the end of the race.
