Qualifying for the second round of the season NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which takes place this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, have seen Joey Logano to show themselves at the forefront again. The resident of Team Penske, who remains on a first success at the Daytona 500 in Florida last week, took pole position overnight. The pilot of the Ford Fusion n°22 ahead of defending champion (and second in Daytona 500) Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing). The top 5 is completed by Jamie McMurray (Ganassi), Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), and Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs Racing).
Several drivers, including champions Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon (Hendrick), Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) will go to the back of the grid. They were unable to pass the technical inspection on time and were unable to complete a single lap in qualifying.
