Nascar – Johnson back on pole in Charlotte

Will Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) end his lack of success this year by winning this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway? The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet took his first pole of the season, the 33rd of his career, on the North Carolina oval by posting a time of 27. Still seeking a first success securing him a place in the Chase, the six-time champion was one of the only ones to confirm his pole victory on this 705 mile oval.

Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) is still at the forefront, failing only 49 thousandths of the reference time. The driver of the #2 Ford will start for the seventh time in 12 front row starts! The second row will be formed by the Chevrolets of Kasey Kahne (Hendrick) and Danica Patrick. The resident of the Stewart-Haas Racing remains on its best performance in the Sprint Cup with a seventh place achieved in Kansas.
