Nascar – Johnson has his ticket to the final

Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) scored his ninth victory on the Martinsville (Virginia) short track, matching Jeff Gordon's performance. The six-time champion of Nascar Sprint Cup will have the opportunity to win a seventh title to tie the all-time record held by Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr.

The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet won ahead of Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) who was eliminated last week, while Joe Gibbs drivers Denny Hamlin, Matt Kanseth and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five ahead of Jeff Gordon ( Hendrick Motorsports) who replaced Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the last time this season.
