Nascar – Kasey Kahne was cut out for Bristol

Kasey Kahne had to lose last weekend in Las Vegas against Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) but the driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet got his revenge by winning the Food City 500 contested on the Bristol oval . After occupying the front positions throughout the race, the Hendrick Motorsports resident took advantage of the last restart to take the lead and remained untouchable until the finish line.

Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing), winner of the day before in Nationwide, must be content with second place today after resisting attacks from Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing). The reigning champion barely managed to save his third place against Kurt Busch (Furniture Row Racing) who quickly caught up with the leaders in the final laps. The driver of the No. 2 Ford still takes the lead in the Championship, taking advantage of the misfortunes of Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) who hit the wall at the end of the event (at the origin of the last yellow flag) and who must settle for 22nd place.

Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing) completes the top five ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports), Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing), Brian Vickers (Michael Waltrip Racing), Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing) and Jamie McMurray (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing). Danica Patrick (Stewart-Haas Racing) finished in 28th place while team owner Tony Stewart saw his race spoiled in the first laps and finished a distant 31st place.
