Nascar – Kevin Harvick at the finish in Phoenix

Kevin Harvick maintains a slim chance in the Chase by winning his fourth victory of the season at Phoenix International Raceway where he has already won three times. The Richard Childress Racing resident took advantage of the misfortunes of Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing) who was on course to win before running out of fuel on the last lap. The No. 29 Chevrolet leads a Hendrick Motorsports trio of Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The five-time Sprint Cup champion performed excellently at the end of this penultimate round of the Chase. His direct rival Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs) only took 23rd place after having experienced a disastrous race due in particular to a poorly adjusted car. Jimmie Johnson will enter the final at Miami-Homestead with a comfortable lead of 28 points over Matt Kenseth and 34 over the winner of the day. Suffice to say that Jimmie Johnson is on track to win next week given that a race weekend brings in a maximum of 48 units.
