Nascar: Kimi Räikkönen behind closed doors

It is therefore on a half-mile oval located near Jefferson in Georgia that the former champion of the F1 discovered what it was like to drive a Truck Series machine (the 3rd division of the Nascar). Räikkönnen completed two days of testing with the Kyle Busch Motorsports team, one of the best in the category whose boss/driver is none other than one of the most talented in Nascar. Räikkönen and the team have planned to participate in several rounds which will be determined in particular depending on the Finn's calendar in WRC with the Citroën DS3.

In the meantime, the former pilot McLaren et Ferrari therefore took his first steps with a type of machine and track that he was discovering. Since the team had requested that these two days of testing take place behind closed doors, little information was leaked. According to certain sources from our colleagues atMotorsport, Räikkönen wore a black suit devoid of any sponsor. He took to the track mid-morning Monday under the watchful eye of Kyle Busch who gave him advice and also rode a little later in the day.

The next day, the team raced Räikkönnen and American Brian Ickler who raced in 2010 for Kyle Busch Motorsports. According to these same sources, the Finn was satisfied with his two days of testing and even set impressive times. For the moment, no further runs are scheduled.

Remember that Kimi Räikkönen will make his racing debut alongside Kyle Busch during the Truck Series round in Charlotte on May 20.
