Michael Waltrip Racing suffers another hard blow after the Clint Bowyer Spingate affair. Napa, a very important sponsor of the team, announced the termination of its contract at the end of the year.

Clint Bowyer's deliberate spin had significant repercussions which placed Michael Waltrip Racing in an unfortunate situation. Michael Waltrip Racing suffered the blow after having already experienced a difficult week since the start of the Chase. The team wishes to reassure its prospects for 2014 where it still hopes to field three cars. “Michael Waltrip Racing respects Napa's decision following the events in Richmond. On the other hand, 5 Hour Energy, the sponsor of Clint Bowyer's No. 15 car, remained more evasive, indicating that the subject would be discussed internally.
