Nascar – The Michael Waltrip without the No. 56 in 2014

Sans surprise, la Michael Waltrip Racing a confirmé qu’elle ne prolongerait pas le contrat de Martin Truex Jr en 2014 suite au « Spingate » qui aura fortement pénalisé le pilote de la n°56. Evincé du Chase, le pilote de l’écurie a également vu son avenir devenir incertain lorsque le sponsor-titre de sa voiture, NAPA Auto Parts, a annoncé son départ de l’équipe à la fin de la saison. Si le partenaire pourrait envisager de suivre le pilote, la Michael Waltrip Racing doit réduire son programme à deux voitures avec les Toyota n°15 de Clint Bowyer et la n°55 de Brian Vickers forfait pour le reste de la saison. Martin Truex Jr est donc libre de rechercher un autre volant en partant avec son crew chief Chad Johnston.
