NASCAR – The million for Jamie McMurray

Yesterday's race in NASCAR Sprint Cup did not count towards the championship, but a million-dollar jackpot awaited the future winner. Divided into four segments of twenty laps, then a final sprint of 10 loops, this All-Star Race saw the victory of Jamie McMurray. The Ganassi driver, author of an average second place over the first four parts of the event, got rid of leader Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) to win quite easily after the last ten laps, where no yellow flag came to hinder the forward march of the former winner of the Daytona 500.

Behind McMurray, we find Harvick followed by Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs), Dale Eanrhardt Jr (Hendrick) and Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway). The usual favorites of NASCAR games have had mixed fortunes. If Jimmie Johnson finished this race in 6th position, Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs), Joey Logano (Penske), and Kasey Kahne (Hendrick) were all caught in a collision. The next race, counting for the championship this time, will be held on this same oval in Charlotte (North Carolina) next Sunday for the Coca-Cola 600, the longest race of the year.
