Nascar – The Busch brothers at the forefront in Texas

Kyle Busch won the pole for the NRA 500 held at Texas Motor Speedway by setting a time of 27 which also constitutes the new record time on the track. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver took his second pole of the season, his first on this oval and the 509th of his career. “We used all the tools at our disposal”, declared the pole sitter. “I have no words to thank the entire Joe Gibbs Racing staff. » His brother Kurt Busch (Furniture Row Racing) had to lose 86 thousandths behind. “I didn't want to lose to anyone but it's a little less hard given that it's my brother who is on pole. »

Aric Almirola and Marcos Ambrose place the Richard Petty Motorsports Fords on the second row while Martin Truex Jr (Michael Waltrip Racing). The Hendrick drivers are also at the front with Dale Earnhardt Jr sixth ahead of leader Jimmie Johnson, winner last weekend at Martinsville, and Jeff Gordon. Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing) and Juan-Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) complete the top ten. Defending champion Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing) qualified 16th. Danica Patrick (Stewart-Haas Racing) will start from the penultimate position.

Kyle Busch will be one to watch closely this weekend. The pole sitter in Texas scored his fourth Nationwide victory last night this season.
