Nascar – Logano beats Martin at Pocono

Starting on pole after showing off during practice, Joey Logano won the Pocono 400, which was his second victory in the Sprint Cup Series. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver took the advantage over Mark Martin (Michael Waltrip Racing) after apparently bumping the veteran of the discipline four laps from the finish, forcing the Toyota #55 to move aside to let the #20 Camry pass. “Mark was better at each restart and he got me in the last one”, recognizes the winner. “He made a mistake in turn 3 and I was able to catch up with him. He then went to the inside in turn 1 and I tried to keep my hood to the inside as well. We were very close, I don't know if we touched each other. »

Mark Martin is still satisfied to place second ahead of Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsport) who represent very serious clients in the discipline. The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet is still making sparks by taking fourth place after starting from 24th position. The top five is completed by Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) ahead of Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing), Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing), Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports), Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing) and Jamie McMurray (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing). Juan-Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) did not improve his position on the grid and finished 17th ahead of Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing). Numerous drive-throughs were handed out during the race (22 in total) following speeding in the pits, mainly noted at the pit exit. The speed controls have in fact been repositioned, which has caused some confusion within the teams.
