Nascar – Matt Kesenth to perfection in Kansas

Matt Kenseth a confirmé ses bonnes prestations sur la STP 400 en restant aux avant-postes pendant toute la course après s’être élancé depuis la pole avant d’aller passer la ligne d’arrivée en vainqueur, comme l’a réalisé son coéquipier Kyle Busch la semaine dernière au Texas. Le pilote de la Joe Gibbs Racing signe son second succès de la saison après avoir mené le plus grand nombre de tours et sauve le week-end de son équipe, la Toyota n°18 de son coéquipier ayant notamment abandonné suite à un gros choc avec Joey Logano (Penske Racing). Le pilote de la Camry n°20 a dû résister en fin de course aux attaques de Kasey Kahne qui prend la deuxième place devant son coéquipier Jimmie Johnson.

Michael Waltrip Racing achieved a great performance by placing its three Toyotas in the top ten. Martin Truex Jr and Clint Bowyer even completed the top five ahead of the Ford of Brad Keselowski who made an impressive comeback at the end of the race despite his damaged car which caused the last yellow flag of the event. Jamie McMurray (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) took seventh place ahead of Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports), Mark Martin (Michael Waltrip Racing) and Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing). Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Roush Fenway Racing) finished 11th. The driver of the No. 17 Ford was going for the win before being trapped like other contenders by the last interruption of the race caused by debris coming from the No. 2 Fusion of the reigning champion.
