Nascar – McMurray wins at Talladega

Jamie McMurray (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) took the lead in the final part of the race at Talladega, an event that saw only two yellow flags before the final lap when everything came to a halt following Austin's crash Dillon (Stewart-Haas Racing). Losing control of the No. 14 Chevrolet, Tony Stewart's replacement was hit head-on by Casey Mears (Germain Racing). The driver of the No. 1 Chevy thus won the second victory of his career at Talladega after a first success in 2009 while Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) had to be content with second place. Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Roush Fenway Racing) completes the top three after avoiding the sinking car of Austin Dillon.

Dans la lutte pour le titre, Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) réalise la meilleure opération en terminant dans le top cinq derrière Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing) après avoir connu un début de course compliqué en manquant son stand lors de son premier arrêt qui a repoussé la Toyota n°18 à un tour des leaders. Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) ne prend que la 13e place mais le quintuple champion de la Sprint Cup s’empare tout de même des commandes du Chase puisque Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) se hisse péniblement dans le top 20.
